AAMT/Japio特許翻訳研究会について

AAMT/Japio特許翻訳研究会は、一般財団法人日本特許情報機構(Japio)からの委託を受け、アジア太平洋機械翻訳協会(AAMT)の研究会として平成15(2003)年に発足しました。以後、特許翻訳のさらなる精度向上や対訳用語の自動抽出、そして翻訳結果の自動評価に関する研究活動を行うとともに、奇数年に開催される機械翻訳サミットの際には2005年以降特許翻訳ワークショップを開催し、偶数年には中国や韓国と連携して特許情報シンポジウムを開催するなど、特許に関する機械翻訳技術の研究に日々取り組んでいます。

About Us

AAMT/Japio Special Interest Group on Patent Translation was established in 2003 as a research group of Asia-Pacific Association for Machine Translation (AAMT) which is commissioned from Japan Patent Information Organization (Japio) to improve patent translation quality. Along with eight meetings held a year to discuss machine translation quality improvement, we are extracting translation equivalents from bilingual corpora and automatic evaluation of patent translation. During the Machine Translation Summit which is held in the odd years, we became active in hosting the Patent Translation Workshops since 2005, and in the even years, we cooperate with China and Korea to hold the Patent Information Symposium. We are actively involved in research of machine translation technologies for patent translation.

平成15（2003）年: AAMT/Japio特許翻訳研究会発足
平成17（2005）年: 第10回機械翻訳サミット（於タイ・プーケット）にて、第1回特許機械翻訳ワークショップを開催
平成19（2007）年: 第11回機械翻訳サミット（於デンマーク・コペンハーゲン）にて、第2回特許機械翻訳ワークショップを開催
平成21（2009）年: 第12回機械翻訳サミット（於カナダ・オタワ）にて、第3回特許機械翻訳ワークショップを開催
NTCIR、AAMT/Japio特許翻訳研究会合同会合を開催（於東京・中央大学駿河台記念館）
2009特許・情報フェア＆コンファレンスでの講演にてAAMT/Japio特許機械翻訳研究会を紹介（於東京・科学技術館）

Historical Record

In 2003, AAMT/Japio Special Interest Group on Patent Translation is established.

In 2005, organized the 1st Workshop on Patent Translation during Machine Translation Summit X in Phuket, Thailand.

In 2007, organized the 2nd Workshop on Patent Translation during Machine Translation Summit XI in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In 2009, organized Joint Meeting between NTCIR (NII Test Collection for IR Systems) Project and AAMT/Japio Special Interest Group on Patent Translation in Tokyo.
Organized the 3rd Workshop on Patent Translation during Machine Translation Summit XII in Ottawa, Canada.
Participated in 2009 Patent Information Fair & Conference in Tokyo for invited lecture.
Organized AAMT/Japio Special Interest Group on Patent Translation Symposium in Tokyo.

In 2010, organized the 1st Patent Information Symposium at the University of Tokyo.

In 2011, organized the 4th Workshop on Patent Translation and Special Session on Patent Translation during Machine Translation Summit XIII in Xiamen, China.

In 2012, organized Review Meeting for Evaluating Method of Machine Translation Results of patent documents at the University of Tokyo.
Organized the 2nd Patent Information Symposium at the Kyoto University Tokyo Office.

In 2013, organized the 5th Workshop on Patent Translation during Machine Translation Summit XIV in Nice, France.

In 2014, organized the 3rd Patent Information Symposium in Tokyo.

In 2015, organized the 6th Workshop on Patent and Scientific Literature Translation (PSLT 2015) during Machine Translation Summit XV in Miami, United States.

In 2016, organized the 4th Patent Information Symposium in Tokyo.

In 2017, organized the 7th Workshop on Patent and Scientific Literature Translation (PSLT 2017) during Machine Translation Summit XVI in Nagoya.

In 2018, organized the 5th Patent Information Symposium in Tokyo.

In 2019, organized the 8th Workshop on Patent and Scientific Literature Translation (PSLT 2019) during Machine Translation Summit 2019 in Dublin.

In 2020, organized the 6th Patent Information Symposium be held online.

In 2021, organized the 9th Workshop on Patent and Scientific Literature Translation (PSLT 2021) during Machine Translation Summit 2021 be held online.
